Consultant (Self Employed)                                                                           1999-Present

Assisted in the Business Planning for Aristos Group, Inc. a Software company entering into the medical registry and record market.  Clinical microbiology market study and strategic planning for entering new market segments for DADE-Behring Ltd. Japan.   Developed USA Chronic Wound Care Market and strategic positioning for ThermoGenesis, Inc. for raising finance with investor banks as well as market research in the orthopedic surgery field regarding fibrin sealants. Business Development and Market Plan for Fabritec Precision, Inc. for core metal fabrication manufacturing (Job shops) and their new business units (extreme sports equipment manufacturing and distribution of Shibuya metal cutting lasers.)   Established sales tracking and monitoring process for TriPath Imaging, Inc.  Assisted in the Business Development for Lollie Pop Enterprises for a ski & snowboard recreation park.  Formed strategic International distribution arrangements for WebRaiser, CAT, Hardy Diagnostics, and RA/Ted Medical Technologies. 

 

ThermoGenesis Corp., Rancho Cordova, California                                     1998-1999

An engineering firm for advanced thermodynamic technologies targeted at the blood plasma industry transforming to a biopharmaceutical micro-manufacturing systems company offering products and services to the Surgery ward, Blood banks, Stem cell laboratories.

Director of Corporate Marketing: Responsible for developing the marketing department and introducing two new product platforms. 

-              Introduced two “new to world” biopharmaceutical micro-manufacturing systems: BioArchive system for production of therapeutic units of stem and progenitor cells sourced from umbilical cord blood and the CryoSeal system for production of antihemophilic Factor VIII, autologous fibrin Glue and autologous Platelet-derived growth factors.

-              Transitioned the marketing department moving the business from a technical engineering firm to a marketing and sales business.

DADE Behring Inc./Baxter MicroScan, West Sacramento, California          1991-1998

A $1 billion medical diagnostic business offering products, systems and services for chemistry, immunochemistry, hemostasis, microbiology, quality control, information management and customer support.

 Microbiology Business Unit Manager Asia Pacific: Responsible for establishing and expanding the current DADE clinical diagnostic microbiology business in Asia.

-              Managed the DADE Asia and South Pacific Microbiology business through the US, Japan, Australian, Beijing and South Korean Dade offices and/or distributors.

-              International strategic and operational planning.

-         Researched and established new business in developing markets.

Director of Marketing - Japan: Responsible for the Clinical Microbiology Marketing activities at DADE International LTD Japan and their related programs at US facilities.  Resided in both Japan and in the USA.

-        Developed and implemented Japan Microbiology business plan.

-        Managed both the marketing group in Japan and related personnel in USA.

-        Researched and launched new products into Japan market.

Molecular Biosystems Inc., San Diego, California                                        2/88 - 3/91

Biomedical firm commercializing injectable contrast agent for use in ultrasound imaging and genetic probes that diagnose human disease.

 Market Manager: Responsible for establishing and managing the Marketing and Sales organization for the DNA probe division.

-        Instrumental in generating company’s strategic direction.

-        Established distribution system for both research and clinical products.

-              Introduced company’s first clinical DNA probe products for infectious disease diagnostics and unique Research Products such as first non-isotopic DNA fingerprinting kit and custom oligonucleotides.

 

Gen-Probe Inc., a division of Chugai, San Diego, California                         1/85 - 1/88

Diagnostic firm specializing in the development and commercialization of medical products based upon genetic probe technology.

 Section Manager Marketing/Technical Service: Instrumental in establishing the marketing and sales department of the newly formed company. 

-              Introduced the first clinical DNA probe assay to the market.

-              Established the markets gold standard for clinical molecular biology testing.

-              Established the company’s first direct sales force and outside distribution network.

 

Syva a Syntex Company Palo Alto, California                                              7/78 - 1/85

A $120 million diagnostic division for immunodiagnostics reagents and instruments.

 International Product Manager - introduced therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) assays and instruments to European Market.

Manager, International Marketing Technical Service- Established Syva’s worldwide technical service and training programs through subsidiaries, joint ventures, and distributors.

Supervisor Product Improvement/Manufacturing Development- Improved the quality of manufacturing processes and coordinated new product transfers from R&D.

Development Chemist- Project leader in the development of new products and application of manual assays onto chemistry analyzers.

Quality Assurance Chemist- Developed test procedures, specifications, and product claims for new TDM and Drug of Abuse (DAU) assays.

 A learning center for beginners to professionals.  The school has an adaptive skier program for visually impaired students.  Snowboarding instructor and technical advisor for Louie the Chimpanzee in the movie MXP, Technical instructor/consultant for Pro-riders such as the JAWS 2002 Surf Champion, Wake boarders, ski and snowboard patrollers, instructors, etc…

            A winter season newspaper dedicated to Skiers and Snowboarders.  

            Produced both technical training articles and feature articles.
